Our bakery has been in business over 25 years, and is growing
steadily.  The baking facility where our desserts are made
is right here in San Antonio, Texas!  Jeanne Samii (the mastermind
behind our wonderful desserts,) and her husband Marcus, have made a husband and wife team effort in bringing their taste-tempting desserts to the forefront in the baking industry.
They founded the business in Corpus Christi, Texas, then moved to the present sight in San Antonio.  They started out with one retail store, and, as the business has progressed,  more stores have been opened in several locations.   At the present, there are six retail stores from Corpus Christi to Oklahoma City.
Tom and Mary Jane Ontiveroz, (another husband and wife team) are the owners of both San Antonio retail shops. One in the Arbor Park Shopping Center, 17700 Hwy. 281 N., and the other in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center, 999 E. Basse Rd.
Having both come from artistic backgrounds, and involvement
within the baking industry, Tom and Mary Jane put forth a team
effort in overseeing the operations of both stores.
Mary Jane, an accomplished cake artist, has been designing
and decorating cakes since the age of 15.  Mary Jane's dad bought
the first decorating supplies to start her out, and the rest was up to
her.  She started out by making a surprise birthday cake for her
younger sister.  After baking and decorating it to her fastidious
specifications, Mary Jane hid the cake on top of the freezer in the
family basement.  After dinner, She couldn't wait to bring her
beautiful masterpiece to the table.  Well, beautiful it
WAS-that is,
before the heat from the top of the freezer had melted the icing on
the cake!
With understanding words of encouragement, her sister said,
"Don't worry, Mary Jane, you'll make other cakes!"  Little did they
know how true those words would become.
Designing and decorating cakes has become Mary Jane's life's
work.  Moral of story: Don't put your cake where it will melt,
unless it's in your mouth!
Mary Jane's cakes have been seen on the CNN news network,
and she has had features in national and international cake
decorating magazines.  She had the exciting honor of decorating the wedding cake for Jenna Bush and Henry Hager on May 10, 2008! She's decorated cakes for Texas Governor Ann Richards, San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger, former Minnesota Vikings' owner Red McCombs, CEO's of major companies, and several San Antonio Spurs players. Mary Jane puts every effort into making each cake a work of art; her cakes are the centerpieces of many special occasions!   She delights in seeing the joy on her customers' faces when they pick up their cakes.  According to Mary Jane, the best compliment that she can receive is that her customers keep coming back for more!
Tom, a 20 year veteran in the computer industry, has always
had a passion for cooking.  He started out at a young age, when
he'd go hunting in the hills near his family home in a small town in
Wyoming.  He'd bring various small game home for his mom to
cook-or so he thought.  Being the smart woman that she was
though, she told Tom that if he brought any Wyoming wildlife
home, he'd have to clean them
and learn how to cook them!  Well,
the bargain was made, and Tom soon learned how to cook under
his mom's careful supervision.   Along with having a passion for
preparing scrumptious dishes, he is also very creative with
pastries and desserts.  Tom has been a private chef to some
families in the affluent Alamo Heights area of San Antonio.  He
brings a personal touch to every aspect of the business.   In
addition to his outstanding customer service, Tom handles the
portion of the business that requires his professional expertise and
knowledge.  Backed by his experience in the high-tech world, Tom
keeps a keen eye on overseeing the growth of the business.  He
has gone from computer chips to chocolate chips!
Tom and Mary Jane
would like to thank
their families, friends,
and the people who
have encouraged
them  along the way.
They'd also like to
thank the wonderful
people of San Antonio
for their business.
But most importantly
would like to thank the
good Lord for the
opportunity that has
been given them.
